Online Success 1: So You've Got a New Website... What Now?

You’ve finished building your new business website and everything looks great and works smoothly.  But what's next? What do you do now? Tackling a new website system can feel overwhelming but a great approach to that challenge is to break it into smaller tasks. Here are the priorities Rain POS recommends focusing on first with your new website:

  • Start with the Basics - Familiarize yourself with how to manage your web content. Rain POS’s support team and trainers teach this to our clients every day, even those without extensive computer knowledge. Take advantage of the articles and basic overview videos in our knowledge base. If you’re comfortable using a simple word processor like the text editor in Gmail, you’ll master the basics quickly.
  • Let Us Help - Log into the system and practice the new skills you've picked up so far. Jot down any questions and reach out to our team. They will assist you with whatever you might still need to set up, answer any of your questions, and get you started off right.   • Know the Game Plan - It is crucial that you understand your migration timeline, whether Rain POS is migrating your old system data or you are doing the migration yourself. During your onboarding, your Customer Success Manager should have put you in touch with the migration team if they're needing to work with you. Be sure to stay in touch throughout the migration process. We want to work with you at a pace that works for you, so don't be afraid to get the ball rolling!
  • Dive Right In - It’s important to be active with Rain POS from the start. Based on our experience with  thousands of clients, those who jump right in tend to be the most successful. Avoid letting months pass without making any progress on your website. Maximize your investment by adding time to your daily calendar to work with the system. Even small daily efforts can lead to significant results!

  • How do I log into the system?

Your system login was sent to you during the onboarding process, but if you haven't been able to find it, give our support team a call and we'll get you set up to make your ongoing system access as easy for you and your team as possible.   • Why can't I see my live website yet? If your website launch is still in process, it may take a day or two for all of the web server changes to finish propagating. If this is where you are in the process, your Customer Success Manager will still be your point of contact for questions like this.
  • How will I work with my web orders?

During the onboarding process, your Customer Success Manager will have helped you set up Shipping and how your Shopping Cart will work. Your web orders will start coming into your Orders module, and every time you get a new one, the Alarm Bell icon in the upper left will show you how many you have waiting for you, as pictured here.
