Steps for Taking a Phone Order with Shipping in the Register

  1. Click the Register icon in the upper left.

  1. You can either search for a customer or click the + next to customer search to create a new customer.
  2. First, make sure you enter and save a Street Address for the customer if they do not yet have that saved. You can do this by clicking on their name, if they are already a customer.
  3. Load the products the customer is buying in the normal way. (If you need a refresher on how to work with items in the Register, click here: Register 3: Basic Operations)
  4. Once everything has been loaded, but before you go to take payment, find the Shipping button below the Tax and click it.

  1. The Shipping panel will open and you will see the customer's address. If your Shipping Methods did not fully load, click the Update Shipping Options button. If you will be shipping the order, stay on the Shipping Options tab, if not, see your options for Store Pickup in #7 below. Click the button next to the Method the customer wants, confirm the shipping amount is appropriate (you can manually adjust it if you need in the Shipping Charge field).

  1. If the customer will be picking up the order from your store, click the tab at the top for Store Pickup Options, then choose the location and pickup method (In-Store Pickup or Curbside Pickup) as pictured below.

  1. Once you've made your Shipping or Store Pickup selection, click Save at the bottom.

Please Note: If there is a coupon code in the Register that gives a discount on Shipping you'll see that in the Shipping Discount row. Also, if you have configured Shipping Tax under Settings > Taxes, the transaction will apply the appropriate tax, as pictured below.

  1. Complete the transaction in the normal way. Your transaction will be listed in the normal reports, but will also display in the Orders area, where you can track its status, print a packing slip, and manage the shipping and fulfillment.
