The Communications Module allows you to view your email communication history and success. This guide will help you navigate and utilize the features of the Communications Module effectively.
To begin working with the Communications module, go to Marketing > Communications.
The first time you open the module it will be in the Recipient View. Whenever the Email Jobs View toggle is off, as pictured below, you'll see detailed information on individual email recipients.
At the top left of the Communications Module list page, you will find three primary filters:
Send Date Filter:
Filters the line-item emails based on the timestamp when the email was sent.
This area defaults to display Yesterday.
Status Filter: Filters emails by their current status, which include Waiting to Retry, Sending Queue, Failed, Sent, Opened, Clicked, and Complaint.
Area Filter: Filters emails based on the area they were sent from, and the list includes all areas of the system that send email messages.
Refresh Data: Button to sync with the API and update the data. Shows a timestamp of the last update. By default, this updates every morning to show you what happened the day before, but if you need to see something that happened today, you can click this button.
Status Tooltip: Curious about what Complaint means? Hover over the ? and the module provides definitions for all Statuses and how events work.
Search: Search by Name, Email Subject, Recipient Email, Status, and Area.
Column Sorting: All columns support alphabetical sorting and revers-sorting by clicking the column headers.
Pagination: Change the number of items displayed per page (10, 25, 50, 100).
Toggle to the Email Jobs View to see details of bulk email jobs rather than individual recipients. This view add a Recipient filter so you can still view what you need by individual. This filter lets you still see individual email addresses in the data table if Single Recipient is selected, and emails that were sent to more than one email address will have Multiple listed in the Recipient column, as shown below.
In the Jobs View you are also able to see data for Failed Rate, Open Rate, Click Rate, and Spam Rate.
Clicking on the recipient’s name or email subject in either view will open a detailed view of the message to the single recipient:
When in the Email Jobs View, clicking on an email job that has multiple recipients will open a detailed bulk recipient view:
The Three-Dot Menu includes two options, View History and View Email. The View Email function will open a window like the individual recipient view above, showing you the message that went out to the multiple recipients.
