Tailored Product Lists

October 01, 2024October 01, 2024

With this feature, you are able to build lists of items a customer might be interested in purchasing. This can be especially useful with items such as jewelry that are more expensive and might require considerable time before the customer is ready to make a purchase decision.

Enabling Tailored Lists

If it is not already on for you, you can go to Settings > Features > Tailored Lists and turn on this feature.

Creating Tailored Lists

There are two places in the system where you can create and view Tailored Lists. The first is in the Register. First, load the customer with whom you wish to work, and then click on any of the Customer Action icons in the upper right to open the Customer Actions panel.

At the bottom, you can see a section for Tailored Lists that will have any lists you might have already created for the customer. You can click on a list name to open a list, and you will be able to add or remove items and load any that are ready to be purchased into the Register. If you click the + button, you can create a new list.

Information for the Customer will already be populated, and you will want to name the list so you can easily refer to it later. If there is an Event related to the list, you can set whatever event you like from the pre-populated drop-list or you can click the + to create an Event name you need.

You can set View Options for the List and have it set to be viewable for Store Only, meaning employees of the store would view and manage the list, or you can make it Public. Right now this is just a status setting, but in the upcoming integration with Clientbook, the Tailored list will be restricted to store only or will be publicly visible in Clientbook based on this setting.

You can add Private Notes about the list that will only be visible to store employees and will not print out or display anywhere the public can see.

For the items in the Tailored List, you have the ability to Add All Products to the Till if the customer is ready, or you can add single items to the Register using the Add to Till buttons for each.

For each item, you are also able to set a Price, if needed. Each item will load with its regular Price, but you can adjust that number to make the sale. If the item has a Sale Price saved and if it is lower than whatever you have in the Price field when you add the item to the Register, the lowest price will display, and can always be adjusted from there if needed.

At the bottom of the window, once you have saved and reopened a Tailored List, you have the ability to Share the list, which will copy the website URL of the list so you can paste it where needed. You can also Print the list, Delete it if you no longer need it, or Save any updates you might make.

The Tailored Lists Page

In the Customers menu you can access and work with your Tailored Lists or create new ones as well. You can also view Registry lists or Wish Lists your customers have created on the website here. You can either Search by Customer or any keyword in the list name (you cannot search by keyword for items within lists), or you can filter by Event and / or Creator. In the upper right, you are able to create a new Tailored List by click the +Lists button.

Clicking on the List Name will open the list so you can work with it as described above, and clicking on the Customer name will open the customer details panel where you can work with their full information.

Tailored Lists in the Edit Customer Panel

The final place you can work with your lists is in the Edit Customer Panel, from the Lists tab. The functionality in this area is very similar to the Lists page under the Customers menu, but also gives you the ability to view Gift Registry lists the customer has created on your website.
